Frequently Asked Questions
What is a GroupMark?
A groupmark is like a bookmark, but for multiple websites/URLs. It is a group of websites/URLs.
How can Viewista make my web surfing more productive and efficient?
Viewista allows a user to view multiple web pages simultaneously in the
same browser window and in multiple view modes like slide show, vertical, two column, or horizontal.
Height (and width in two-column mode) of pages can be adjusted by the user.
Each page view also provides address bars to view other pages.
The user can create his own group of bookmarks (GroupMarks).
Viewista also provides several default groupmarks which group
together popular web pages into various categories. All this creates
an environment for a friendly, efficient, and productive web viewing!
What are some good uses of the view modes?
While all of the view modes make for efficient, fast, and fun web viewing,
certain views are designed to do some things better.
- Two Column - This is a great view for comparing different things. This
can be very handy in online shopping when trying to compare different
products.
- Slide Show - This view is great for, well, slide shows (of web sites).
And presentations. Also, this is our fastest loading view.
- Horizontal and Vertical - Great for sequential viewing of web sites.
What are the advantages of creating an account?
Creating an account will allow you to make your own groupmarks that contain
your own favorite websites. You will also be able to store your bookmarks online.
Plus, more features for members will be coming soon.
Should I enable Javascript support in my browser to use Viewista?
We recommend that you enable Javascript in your browser to take full advantage of all the
features of Viewista. Without Javascript support, you will see only a limited functionality
of Viewista.
Should I enable Cookies in my browser to use Viewista?
With Cookies enabled in your browser, you would not have to login everytime you visit our
website. This will make your web browsing with Viewista even more productive.
What is the difference between using multiple browser tabs vs a groupmark rendered page in Viewista?
The main difference is that the tabs provide a 'sequential' (one at a time) view of a page whereas Viewista's
three modes (Vertical, Two Column, and Horizontal) provide a 'simultaneous' view of all the pages. Tabs are okay
for viewing a few pages (2-3) at a time, whereas with Viewista's views, a user can view 10-20 pages or more simultaneously
with ease. The slide show view of Viewista provides an innovative way to view multiple web pages in an organized fashion.
Viewista's views take the web experience to a new level; they act like power tools for a savvy web surfer.
Why do some of the web pages/sites pop out when viewed in Viewista?
Some web page/site authors have designed their sites to open in a full window.
Such pages cannot be viewed along with other pages in a single Viewista window.
However, such pages are very few. For example, amongst the 100 most visited websites in the world,
around 95% of the sites can be viewed in Viewista without problem.
